For many Native American and indigenous groups, the heartberry aka the strawberry is regarded for its healing properties. The Cherokee believe it united the first man and woman while the Haudenosaunee believe sky woman brought strawberries down from the sky world. Strawberries are also used to make strawberry drink during the strawberry festival of June. This candle pays homage to all the uses, beliefs and traditions of this berry.
